Dolan’s was one of more than forty businesses to meet with job seekers at a half-day career fair co-hosted by the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa and the California Employment Development Department on February 25, 2015.
Patrick Dolan and Romina Gonzales presented Dolan’s family-owned business that serves building industry professionals and home-owners with two Lumber and home improvement locations and two window and door showrooms. Job applications were given to attendees who were invited to fill them out and bring them back to Patrick Dolan at the Concord location.
“Our company has a history of employee advancement from within. The number of long-term employees at all of our locations are evidence of this.” said Patrick Dolan. “That room for growth and advancement is just one of the reasons Dolan’s is a great place to work. We look to continuously empower our staff members.”
More than 500 job seekers attended the career fair, which was held at Mt. Diablo Adult Education’s Loma Vista Adult Center in Concord. In addition to meeting with a variety of companies and submitting resumes, participants could meet with career counselors from the Workforce Development Board’s four career centers known as America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) EASTBAY Works.
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Contra Costa County describes itself as a business-led advisory group whose members are appointed by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to shape and strengthen local and regional workforce development efforts.
