This is a refreshing complement to barbecued steaks and a giant Irish Pub Salad for your summer deck party.
Make lots of hearty iced tea, enough for the crowd. If you’re a fan of Irish tea brands then you no doubt have Lyons or Bary’s. We also recommend Brittish black teas like Twining’s. If you can, chill your glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes. If there is not enough room, you can place the glasses in the coldest part of the refrigerator, or use a cooler filled with ice.You can add pieces of fruit to the tea — strawberries, peaches and of course, those must-have lemon slices or wedges.
INGREDIENTS: For each glass of tea:
6 ounces of tea
3 to 4 ounces of Irish whiskey, more or less, like Jameson
lemon or lime wedges
sprig of mint
chunks of fruit (optional)
EASY DIRECTIONS Add plenty of ice to a glass and then pour in your whiskey. Add optional fruit. Then add ice tea and stir briefly to mix. Add a squeeze of lemon or lime from a wedge and drop into the glass. A sprig of mint is a nice touch.
