The Irish Grasshopper Cocktail
Finish your corned beef and cabbage dinner with this Grasshopper Cocktail. It’s green, elegant and loaded. Our recipe serves two.
INGREDIENTS:
4 jiggers of Vodka
2 jiggers of Creme de Cacao (Yum! Chocolate!)
2 jiggers of Creme de Menthe
1/2 cocktail shaker of ice (or a bucket full for a crowd)
2 tablespoons honey (Mileeven Irish Honey is made by Jameson Whiskey Co.)
3 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips (if you want more chocolate)
1 tablespoon green sanding sugar is a nice touch (so is a 3 or 4 leaf Shamrock)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. If using chocolate chips, crush them with a rolling pin or a kitchen mallet. (Use a small Zip-Lock bag)
2. Add the green sanding sugar to crushed chocolate and mix.
3. Pour the sugar-chocolate picture onto a salad plate and spread around.
4. Spoon the honey onto a salad plate and spread around.
(You can use water)
5. Dip the martini glasses into the honey or water and then into the sugar
mixture. (Water is a lot easier. If using honey, let glasses sit upside down
for 10 minutes to dry.
6. Fill cocktail shaker half full of ice for every two drinks.
7. Add Vodka, Creme de Cocao and Creme de Menthe.
8. Place lid on shaker and shake until completely mixed. (Shaker will be frosty)
9. Pour and serve right away.
Top with your Shamrock or Mint Leaves. Add a little whipped Creme if you want to be really decadent!
